Parent Night - Rising 6th GradersPlease join us for Parent Night for all rising 6th graders on Thursday, March 22nd, at 6:00pm, in the Willie J. Williams Gym. You will receive information about registration, curriculum, safety and extra-curricular activities. We encourage parents and students to attend. We want to prepare parents and students for the middle school transition. We look forward to seeing you all Thursday night.
YES! SculptureThis is the art scupture piece that the YES group created this year. Each participant brought one item that: spoke of them, meant something to them, that they could hold and do public speaking about, and they had to make an effort to decide to contribute to the art piece. The group voted on the name "Lemonade's STAND (Against Cancers)" and also elected the color. The used the democratic process to keep Lemonade in his original state and not painted to be monochromatic like the other objects on the gate to their future backdrop/stand.

Youth Enrichment Summit!


25 rising 7th graders attended YES - Youth Enrichment Summit in June, 2017.

· Purpose of YES! provide youth with the opportunity for experiences to enrich, empower, and inspire them to reach their full potential as students and citizens,

· 50 Youth are invited to apply to attend a week of exciting activities on the campus of Southern Regional Technical College,

· To engage youth with using technology and connecting with peers and the community to prepare them for completing their educational and life goals,

· Activities include “Money Habitudes/Talk”, “Healthy Relationships”, Community Service Projects, Arts Projects, Moultrie YMCA Adventure Course-Zipline/Teambuilding, tours of local colleges/universities, computer skills, goal setting, and resources for academic/economic success.

· Focus on STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture/Art, and Math.

· Breakfast, snacks, lunch and transportation are provided.

· Youth are issued a personal electronic tablet for use during program activities.  Upon completion of the week, their tablets will go home with them containing an action plan and tools/resources for achieving their personal goals.

Cell Phones in Cafeteria PolicyStudents have been doing an amazing job in the cafeteria. If they continue to do a good job in the cafeteria this week, then we will allow them to get on their cell phones during their lunch period FRIDAY. If this is successful, this could be a weekly deal. Rules and expectations for this privilege are below. Click the link to access them.
